The residents' lounge is just made for relaxing and also has spectacular views of the harbour and ocean beyond. Ilfracombe Devon Epchris Guest House, Torrs Park, Ilfracombe, North Devon  www.epchrisguesthouse.co.uk Epchris Guest House is a handsome late Georgian house that nestles in one and a half acres of grounds at the foot of the Torrs in the Wilder Valley, one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots near the town of Ilfracombe and the seafront. The house has been beautifully and lovingly restored without detriment to its fine architectural heritage, retaining many of it’s original features. The sun terrace is just fabulous for breakfasting al fresco or sundowners whilst taking in the breathtaking views across the Wilder Valley, and the outdoor heated swimming pool is fabulous for taking a leisurely dip if you are feeling a little more energetic. All of the en-suite bedrooms are beautifully presented and equipped with flat screen TV, DVD player, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and generous hospitality tray. Most of the bedrooms have stunning views across the Wilder valley and Ilfracombe. For the less able guest there are two ground floor bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms. Nicky and Rob are a delightful friendly couple who have worked hard with the restoration. It was a labour of love to make everything just perfect for their guests. |

The farmhouse with its low beamed ceilings has 3 bedrooms, one with a 6 foot four poster bed and en suite shower room, a family bathroom, its own south facing terrace with hot tub, barbecue and garden furniture, fully equipped modern kitchen, and a dining room - sitting room with inglenook fireplace and accommodates up to 6 guests. The Georgian wing of Coulscott House with its high ceilings, impressive entrance hall and chandeliers has 5 bedrooms of which two are en suite, a family sized bathroom, a drawing room with feature fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, garden room and private south facing terrace with a hot tub, BBQ and garden furniture and accommodates up to 9 guests. The three cottages have been converted from 18th century barns. The cottages are set away from the main house around a triangular courtyard. The cottages sleep 4, 4 and 2 but have versatility for letting in various other combinations. Your friendly host Sue's style-brief is "What my guests want". All this, and a swimming pool, surrounded by 16 acres of rural Devon only one mile from Combe Martin on the beautifully rugged and untamed North Devon coast. Fabulous stay! |

Mellstock House sits directly on the ‘South West Coast Path’ overlooking the ocean on the edge of Exmoor and Combe Martin with some of the best coastal views in the UK. The golden sands of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde and the picturesque village of Lynmouth are within easy reach. All of the en-suite bedrooms are beautifully presented most enjoying country and sea views and come equipped with everything you would expect to find in a 4 star bed and breakfast including free Wi-Fi broadband connection. Mellstock House is fully licensed and has a cosy lounge bar that is prefect for relaxing and unwinding with a glass or two of your favourite tipple. French windows lead to a veranda where in the warmer months you can soak up the sun whilst enjoying the country, coastal and sea views, and the sunsets here are amazing. Penny and John serve seriously good home cooked breakfasts and evening meals using only the highest quality local Devon produce and cater for all dietary requirements and food allergies, but please let them know at the time of booking. There is a whole host of activities on the doorstep, which Penny and John would be happy to organise for you, including boat trips, cycling, golfing, horse riding, surfing, walking and of course relaxing by the sea.
