The fantastic garden is tranquillity itself, and having been nurtured by clergy past, it is a quintessentially English country garden full of heady-scented azaleas, rhododendrons and the bizarre gunnera. This is without doubt an idyllic and romantic country house escape. Hollowbrook Cottages are owned and run by Huw and Sam so, as you can imagine, they are beautifully furnished with large comfortable sofas, luxurious beds and wood-burning stoves. The cottages have been converted whilst retaining traditional features - exposed beams, latch doors and inglenook fireplaces. The cottages are available with either 2 or 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to six people. The large farmhouse kitchen dining room with traditional scrubbed pine table is equipped with a range cooker and all the mod cons you need to make life easier. Upstairs the cottages have well appointed bedrooms - most with memory foam mattresses. Luxurious bed linen and towels are provided. The bathrooms are modern and contemporary, and the master bedroom is en-suite, everything you would expect from a luxury holiday cottage. Each cottage has TV, Digital Box, DVD, CD player and wireless broadband internet access throughout. Outside is a small detached garden with table and chairs and allocated parking. The ancient hamlet of Martinhoe borders National Trust land and is just one field away from where the dramatic cliffs of the Exmoor National Park meet the sea - this is great walking country and you can join the coastal path at the end of your cottage garden, and you don't have to go far to find some of the finest dining in the area at The Old Rectory Hotel. |

Good home cooking is the order of the day at Lundy House, so please leave room for Tim's big breakfasts that have quite rightly earned him a fabulous reputation, especially the porridge served with Devon clotted cream "yummy". Throughout this super little hotel the windows constantly tempt you to gaze at the stunning views they frame and spectacular terraced gardens that lead down to the South West Coast Path and cliffs. Tim and Victoria are fabulous friendly hosts with a mine of local knowledge about all the special hidden places to see and visit in arguably one of Devon's most beautiful shore line locations. |
